Having the call of God on his life at an early age, Pastor Varrick Lars Butler has always had a
passion for serving the kingdom of God. He was born number seven out of eight children to
Norman and Mary Henderson. He is a graduate of Windham School after which he
attended Angelina College, Central Texas College and University of Phoenix where he
studied criminal justice and transportation management.
At the age of 20, he accepted his call to the gospel ministry and was licensed under
the leadership of his pastor and father in the Gospel, the Bishop Felton Smith, Jr. He was
later ordained as an Elder under Bishop LaDell Thomas, Jr. and served as Pastor of For His
Glory Church of God in Christ of Austin, Texas.
After his appointment to For His Glory Church of God in Christ in Austin, Texas he founded
Faith Impact Church of Copperas Cove, Texas. As Shepherd of this growing ministry, he
committed to the furtherance of the gospel of Jesus Christ through Worship, Evangelism
and building up the Saints. Because of his faithfulness and outstanding leadership, he was
appointed Chief Adjutant to Bishop LaDell Thomas Jr. He also served as Jurisdiction Youth
Chairman and President of Evangelism. Pastor Butler also served as Vice President of
Sunday School for Texas South Central Jurisdiction, Bishop Prince E. W. Bryant Sr.
Jurisdiction Prelate. Presently Pastor Butler serves as the Chief Adjutant to Bishop Gilbert
Gillum Jr. as well as Jurisdiction Chairman of the Pastor and Elders Council.
Pastor Butler believes that the success of your public ministry is based on the success of
your ministry in private and at home. The love and inspiration of Pastor Butler's life is his
lovely wife, Evangelist Consuela Butler. They are a blended family of seven children and one
grandchild.
As a husband, father, pastor, district and state leader, Pastor Butler is committed to
worship, evangelism, and building up God’s people. He holds Philippians 1:6 as a guiding
principle of life and it reads: Being confident of this very thing, that he, which has begun a
good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ
